This Liverpool type of lifeboat was built for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in 1913 being payed for from a legacy left by Mr John Young of Pollokshields. She was built in London at the Thames Iron Works but served all her time at Androssan on the Firth of Cylde, finally coming out of service in 1930 having saved at least 44 lives.
She was a sailing and pulling boat being rowed by 12 men, and when under sail had standing lug-sails on the main and mizzen.
