A small, pretty, little general purpose fisher and crabbing boat from Brittany, strongly built and with a powerful lugsail. The steeply cut away transom stern is typical of the boats of treacherous North-West France and is very typical of this part of France. The sail, a standing lug is powerful and very easy to lower in a hurry - a feature common to many small working boats.
This boat was given to the museum by the maritime museum in Douarnenez in exchange for a boat from the Dordogne which we had acquired before the museum in Douarnenez was created. The museum was given the bare hull and rudder and has carried out all the other restoration, except the sail, with volunteers.
